Hi

I just wanted to introduce myself. I'm a USPSA shooter from Stillwater, OK, and I'll be moving to Manitowoc, WI in March. Some helpful guys on the Brian Enos forums sent me to this website for information. I'm looking forward to meeting a new group of shooters and being part of the shooting community in Wisconsin.

I'm already signed up to shoot A5 in June, and from what I can tell, the Ripon club is the closest match to Manitowoc. Does anyone know of a club/range where I can practice near Manitowoc?

Thanks in advance, and I hope to see you all on the range.

Welcome!

Last year, there were two USPSA matches a month at Ripon. One was put on by the Ripon club, and the other was put on by the Springbrook club. Hopefully, that will continue this year!

I don't think it is a whole lot further for you to shoot at "Schultz's" in Muskego. Their calander is showing two matches per month again this year too. One is put on by them, and the other is put on by the NISA club.

I really can't help you with a range close to Manitowoc, but, I'm sure somebody will jump in.

The plan is to still have two matches a month in Ripon. I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say we'd love to see you make them both.

Thanks! I'll probably make both matches most months. I've been shooting 2-3 matches a month down here and I'd like to keep up the pace.

I'm originally from Manty, years ago we used to shoot at the Viking Gun Club. Not even sure if it is still around. Welcome to Wisconsin and to manty. Please keep this board posted as to what you find. I have family up there and visit from time to time. Would be nice to know where to go practice.

I'd forgotten all about Viking. I used to shoot sporting clays, and the "mad minute" there. I think they have what they call a defensive pistol league in the summer, one night a week, where they set up one or two stages, similar to USPSA.

I sent an e-mail to the gentleman in charge of the pistol division at the Viking club, but I haven't heard anything back. I'm going to be in the area this weekend, so I'll probably stop by a gun shop or two and ask around.

I got some good information back from the Viking Bow and Gun club. It sounds like they have a pretty decent little pistol range. They even host a monthly action pistol match, but it's not affiliated with any club. This would be just fine during the summer months, but I really need to find a place that I can practice while there's snow on the ground(something I'm not quite used to). If anybody knows about an indoor range in the area please let me know.

Hi Rob,

I see you're signed up on the same squad as us for Area 5, see you there if not at another match sooner.

Winnequah is having an indoor match next weekend (March 13th), it's a Special Classifier.
Stages are here: http://wisconsinshooters.com/joomla/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=84:winnequah-gun-club-stages&catid=37:uspsa-stages&Itemid=76

Thanks Ronnie! Looks like that club isn't too much of a drive from Manitowoc. I won't be able to make the match this weekend because I'll be driviing a moving truck from Oklahoma, but I'll definitely have to shoot there sometime. See you at A5!

I am correct in assuming that all of these outdoor ranges shut down during the snowy season, right?

OSC, and Schultz's USED to shoot USPSA matches all winter long, until the last couple of years, due to trying to plow the snow tearing up the ranges.

I can only speak for Schultz's. We do not hold any outdoor IPSC matches in the winter any more but the range is still open to club members all winter long.

Thanks for the info Tom. I'm going to try to make it over there for a match as soon as I can.
